The Belmar Arts Council was founded in 2004 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for our residents, visitors and neighbors by helping the arts to flourish. We offer diverse and exciting experiences in both the visual and performing arts for people of all ages, year-round; and promote public participation in and support for the arts. We believe that the arts builds pride in our communities; connects people of diverse backgrounds; and occupies an essential role in the lifelong learning experience. BelmarArts serves as a resource to civic, municipal, business and other organizations throughout the region.
Our Mission: To bring people together to discover, create, learn and celebrate the arts.
- To nurture the arts and support artists
- To bring arts programming and education to residents and visitors of all ages
- To use the power of the arts to benefit the community
Our Vision: To develop Belmar Arts Center as an inclusive and enriching hub of arts activities and education.
Support for Belmar Arts Center
The Belmar Arts Council is primarily a volunteer organization supported by membership fees, grants and donations. BelmarArts employs Gallery Assistants to manage the daily operations of the organization.
Additional support for the Belmar Arts Council is provided through grants and sponsorships from the New Jersey Cultural Trust, the Belmar Tourism Commission, the OceanFirst Foundation, the Manasquan Bank Foundation, Belmar Business Partnership and our members and donors, to whom we are most grateful.
The Belmar Arts Council is housed in a building located at the corner of 7th Avenue and River Road near the railroad tracks in the Borough of Belmar, called The Boatworks. The structure originally was used as a boat repair garage and is now called the Belmar Arts Center.
Belmar Arts Council is a non-profit corporation, with a 501 (c)(3) tax-exemption. The tax ID number is 34-2028016 and the NJ Charities Registration number is CH2774100.
BelmarArts is governed by a Board of Trustees. All Trustees are BelmarArts members in good standing elected for two-year terms. Please email us if you are interested in the duties of a Trustee.
Officers are elected by and from the Trustees, each for a term of two years.
