Belmar Arts Center is excited to present  our first exhibition specific to printmaking! EAST MEETS WEST will bring together print artists from both the east & west coasts and feature a special collective from the Portland, Oregon area. This show is a collaborative to promote and showcase some of the significant work being­­­ done by local printmakers. This exhibit is not juried and all work will be installed as long as the criteria outlined below is met.

Artist Instructions:  


-All works must be original creations by the artist in woodcut, linocut, intaglio, serigraph, or lithograph.

-Each edition must consist of 3 prints, a maximum of 3 editions may be submitted from each artist

-All work should be submitted UNFRAMED and on 11” x 14” paper… image can be any size on the paper.
Art work must be received by August 18 to: Belmar Arts Council, 608 River Road, Belmar, NJ   07719 or hand delivered on dates posted.

-Selling your work is optional and subject to commission and terms posted below … if not for sale, please enter NFS on entry form.

-All entries must meet the criteria and be quality in their presentation.  Artwork will be displayed in clear envelopes (provided by BAC) and line hung.

-Belmar Arts reserves the right to decline work that does not meet the criteria outlined above.

Entry fees:
$20 member*/$25 nonmember for 1 entry (edition) – $30 member*/$35 nonmember for 2 entries (editions) – $40 member*/$45 nonmember for 3 entries (editions)
Membership may be purchased or renewed at checkout. . The entry fees are non-refundable and payment must be received before your entry is processed.

Commission: Art should be priced by the artist and if sold is subject to a 30% commission for members and 40% for nonmembers.  If not for sale use NFS on the entry form.  NJ Sales tax will be added to the price of the work sold.  Remittance of NJ Sales tax will be handled by Belmar Arts.  All artists with sales commissions of $600 or more per calendar year are required to furnish their SS# or Tax ID# to Belmar Arts Center.  A 1099-MISC for taxable income will be issued by Belmar Arts Center for sales commissions of $600 or higher. Commissions are paid at the close of show and buyers will pick up purchased work from the BAC.

Liability disclaimer: Belmar Arts Center will make every effort to treat your artwork with care.  However, work is submitted at the artists risk.  Belmar Arts Center and the Art Show Committee will not be held liable for lost or damaged work.  Artists are responsible for insuring their work from delivery to pick-up.

Media/Press Release: Belmar Arts Center reserves the right to use digital images of exhibited artworks for the sole purpose of advertising and publicity.

Late Pick-up Penalty: All unsold work will be returned by mail if a pre-paid envelope has been provided. All other work must be picked up by the advertised dates.  Artwork not picked up beyond two weeks after the advertised pick-up date will be considered abandoned and will become the property of the Belmar Arts Center.  Abandoned art will be sold to benefit the Belmar Arts Center.
