Prefer a more informal learning experience? Join one of our Groups. Share experiences, tips and practices in such diverse areas as artwork critique, photography, creative writing and costume model drawing.
Check out the list below for current groups, if you don’t see what you’re looking for, please let us know what group you are interested in starting! All groups are facilitated by a BAC member volunteer and meetings are free for BAC members! Guests are warmly welcomed for any two meetings but after that membership purchase is required.
Looking to work on your abstract art along with other abstract painters in a collegial, open-ended and self-motivated session?
This “Abstract Painters Studio” is an interest group for BAC members, and is not instructional, but rather a chance to share studio space, interact about the abstract practice, and pursue the genre of abstract painting. Artists may use any media; artists must bring all materials needed to work on their craft, and help with set-up and clean up.
We plan to meet on Friday afternoons from 2-4 pm, on the second and fourth Fridays of each month, according to the needs of the very busy BAC schedule.
For more information, and to RSVP, please contact Sandy Taylor email@example.com .
Art Review & Critique Group meets the 3rd Thursday every month from 6:30 – 8:30pm
Whether you have been making art for a week or years the goal of this group is simple – to improve your art work – both technically and creatively in a comfortable, encouraging environment. Everyone’s taste is relative; however there are certain characteristic of any artwork (photography, painting, sculpture, etc) that can be evaluated as to the artist’s success at conveying the intended message or meaning of their work. The group will give feedback on art based on defined protocol for your discipline. All media is welcome. We encourage you to bring physical examples, however digital images are acceptable. Depending on the attendance at any given meeting there may not be time for everyone’s work to be reviewed. This community of artists sharing their thoughts may just be what you need to strengthen your creativity and enrich your technical skills!
Volunteer group facilitators are: Dorie Dahlberg & Beverly R. & Michael S. Miller
