Ukrainian eggs or ‘Pysanky’ are decorated using beeswax and dyes that are applied in layers. Students will learn new techniques, designs, and historical significance of this process and go home with a beautiful egg. No experience is necessary and ages 12 through adult are welcome to register. Participants will be provided with eggs and decorating materials. Please bring an apron or old shirt and an egg carton to bring your project home in.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Jenny’s interests are in embroidery, watercolor, and film photography, but she is best known for designs on eggs. She draws with wax to create designs on eggs, often inspired by mathematical concepts. Jenny supports and advocates for the arts in Monmouth County by organizing music showcases, art shows, and classes in Asbury Park. She currently teaches art to emotionally and behaviorally challenged students in Tinton Falls and has instructed classes on Ukrainian egg decorating around the state.
