Meets 8/2, 8/9, and 8/23 from 6:00-7:30pm
Learn the basics of traditional crochet – tools, foundation stitches and how to read patterns with abbreviations and symbols. With this knowledge, you can make a wide variety of useful items for gifts, household use to wearable’ s such as hats, mittens and scarves.
To first class, please bring, one skein of worsted weight #4, listed on label, acrylic or acrylic blend, white or pastel color yarn. You will also need a small pointed scissors, tape measure and plastic or metal darning needle. Bring a crochet hook in a medium size plastic or metal, (H, I, J, K). You may bring a crochet pattern of your choice to go over in
class. Patterns and info sheets to take home will be given out. If you have a tablet, you may also bring it
1st week will introduce you to tools, yarns, working basic foundation stitches and reading a pattern. Home work – pick out and start a project.
2nd week we will work on project, continue practicing stitches, learn more abbreviations and symbols, get individual help and answer questions. Home work- practice and continue with project at your own pace.
3rd week complete project, show off your work, hand out reference and resource material, discussion.
