Mary May’s basket wine totes have been a popular favorite at BAC shows over the years. Now you can learn to create your own with Mary as your instructor. This basket is easy to weave, classy to carry, and fun to make. Great for yourself as a BYOB tote or to give to someone as a special gift. This basket also is the prefect size for magazines, utensils, yarn and knitting needles and artist brushes.
Materials Fee covers: use of tools, material needed to complete your basket including oak swing handle. overall size. 12’’ h( top of handleX 5’’ w x 6’’l. Class is limited to 12 students.
Mary May is a traditional basket maker specializing in South Jersey Baskets. Mary is an expert on South Jersey Basket traditions, researching and compiling extensive information on baskets and basket makers from local historical societies, museums and private collections. She is a regular demonstrator at the Tuckerton Seaport, Tuckerton NJ. Mary is a teaching artist and enjoys sharing her knowledge with others. Her baskets have been on display at the Tuckerton Seaport, the New Jersey State Museum, Trenton NJ and she travels the state as part of the Jersey Shore Folklife Center’s “Jersey Traditions” outreach program.
